The Rose

As the sun's first rays call in the dawn

Softly bringing in a summer's day

See the dew on a rose in the early morn

On velvet petals a random ray

Light fingers softly touching

Both are beautiful Jayne! Did you take this photo? I have yet to try my hand with roses. If this is one of yours, do you have a problem with beetles?

A girl child photo - one of the many in preparation for her art exams. We get a nasty little brown beetle just after the rains start - it is known as a rose beetle, in our house they are called 'flying peanuts'! They will strip your bushes in a night if you can't control them! The rest of the year is fine :)

Oh, I know all about them blasted beetles, but never have I experienced them at the full strength of their fierceness!

Precisely why I have not planted roses. I sprayed all my plants two days ago, just to wake in the morning to find the leaves on my purple cone flowers, and morning glories with huge holes in them! Uuuuuuugh! I never sprayed prior to this, as I prefer it natural. I shall have one more seemingly vain go at it though.
