It just aint cricket chaps!

Would someone please tell me who the moron was that invented cricket? I'd really like to know so that I can at least aim my invectives in the right direction!

Tis the cricket season again and, to add insult to injury, it appears the rugby season is in full swing too! My normally pleasant and quiet life has been shattered by the intrusion of all day cricket commentaries (seriously guys the MOST boring of ALL commentaries!) and the cheerful (supposedly?) sound of screaming rugby fans!

One has to ask.....do I care a continental which team is playing, winning, loosing or simply falling asleep mid match? Do I give a damn what the weather is doing, how beautiful/dark the clouds are, how good/bad/wet/dry the pitch is or how many 'overs' are done/left or existed in the first place?

The only 'over' I'm interested in is...........

WHEN IT'S 'OVER'! :(

How could you!!!The sound of leather on willow, the afternoon tea break, and the cheery cry of 'Howzat'! Silly mid-offs and maiden overs. You are on a sticky wicket here Jayne! Cricket is glorious!

Certainly I know of no other sport where you can bowl a maiden over, hit the opposition's middle wicket and remove his bails.

And, commentators who say things like: 'The bowler's Holding; the batsman's Willey'

Keith m'dear - it's my blog and I can moan if I want to! LOL

It's been a bad couple of weeks and I just LOVE your interpretation of the game - ROFL

That was sort of the point Gimme - life during the cricket season IS mundane :)

giggles! You are too funny Jayne. I'd have to agree with you on the Cricket thingy. As a matter of fact, I agree with you on the rugby (football) thingy also. A bunch of men chasing around a field tapping each other's butt, how romantic is that.

giggles

PS. I don't really hold it against you - I have put you on my sidebar. See?
